Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Good news. Husband's 3mth check came up all clear! So relieved and thankful 🙂 next appointment in April. We still have my son staying with us. His mental health is not so good. He saw his therapist a few days ago and again next Monday. His PTSD has been exacerbated by break up with partner of 5yrs. His partner has been his rock - hard times ahead.

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Mr Darcy had a pdoc appt today and I must say he continues to be very kind to Mr D not putting any pressure on and reaffirmed that he is happy to fit him in for an urgent appt if ever needed.
He explained why he felt that one of the two pain relief meds on offer might be helpful and why he thought it not likely to impact his mental health whilst the other one he felt best to avoid completely.
Mr D had difficulties when on a med in a similar class of drugs to the first one and pdoc briefly explained the difference between them and why he thought should not be problematic and worthwhile trying.

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Have noticed Mr Darcy has had a drop in mood this past week, it is of concern and his case worker is keeping a very close eye on him as he sadly ticks nearly all of the boxes that place him as high risk for suicide as a cancer patient.

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Thank you @Former-Member 🌺
I completed the radiation segment of my treatment on Wednesday. 🥂🎉 Glad that part is over, as I was finding the travelling and occasional overnight stay very tiring and somewhat dangerous. Feeling the after effects and side effects of the radiation more now, which is a literal pain. But nothing that wasnt expected. Follow up appointments with both medical oncologist and radiation oncologist are coming up in coming weeks. Will need to discuss and make decisions on other ongoing treatments then.
How is Mr Darcy getting along? And how about your mother and her possible admission into permanent care?
Emelia 💕🤗

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Waiting to hear from pain specialist @Emelia8 , in the interim meds have been adjusted.
Mum has decided now is the time and has accepted the offer to stay where she is having respite.
Hoping that we will get appt soon and able to make a trip to the big smoke to combine both procedure and family.

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
Thats good @Former-Member 😄👍💕
My Dad is still waiting on a permanent care bed. On a wait lust, but hoping something will come up sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, he is staying full time with my brother on his farm. Not ideal given the distance back into town for medical attention when needed.

Re: Partner with both MH issues and cancer
We were fortunate @Emelia8 , being in the right place at the right time ... my brother and sister who live near her are both very happy with location/size of room/care given at the home she is in which is not far from her old home. This means that her friendship group are well able to catch up with her and she can still keep up with activities outside the home should she wish to continue to do so.
