Written self expression?

I love writing anything! How about any one else?

It could be a story, an essay, a poem, an article or a journal entry... If you've written it then share it!

THE WESTERN WINDOW

They vowed to eachother,

that in sickness and in health,

the apart would be together,

in poverty and wealth.

they gave their hearts to eachother

not one more whole than the other,

they gave their hearts to eachother,

till deaths separation dealt.

They bought a house in the country,

like their fathers had before,

with a view from the western window,

looking out over the western shore.

there was no happier couple,

never was their a happier couple,

there was no happier couple,

not now not then nor before.

One day there came a letter,

that broke the ladys heart,

a simple request of service,

her love was to depart.

She hung her head in sorrow,

he'd leave her in the morrow,

she hung her head in sorrow,

for the two were torn apart.

He sat his weighty concience,

on the foot of his lofty bed,

he read the letter slowly,

as the words ran through his head.

He held her in the darkness,

the melancholy darkness,

he held her in the darkness,

till the sun rose overhead.

She woke to the trodding footsteps,

battering against the rye,

she ran to the window and saw him,

riding out towards the southern sky.

He turned to the bedroom window,

saw her standing at the window,

he turned to the bedroom window,

"I'll love you till the day I die".

She waited by the window,

for a comforting embrace,

standing by the bedroom window,

for her lovers friendly face.

She wrote one hundred letters,

a hundred tear stained letters,

she wrote one hundred letters,

to the one who filled that space.

The summer brought no sunlight,

the fall no soothing breeze,

for the one in the lonely manor,

there was no source of ease.

For years she had waited,

her hope it never faded,

for years she patiently waited,

but her body fell to disease.

So come the lonely manor,

when the sun is there no more,

go to the western window,

looking out to the western shore.

she still waits by the window,

waiting at the western window,

still she waits by the window,

for her love forever more.
