Soul sister

@Former-Member

Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Smiley Sad Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

@Zoe7 Heart

How are you? - hope you are feeling a bit better from this morning

I had my friends memorial service this morning- it was a beautiful tribute to a beautful girl

On the way home I stopped in to see my GP and I've had a blood test and will have ultrasound tomorrow- he thinks its nothing serious- I will know by Thursday afternoon when all the test results are in.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi @Former-Member

Glad the tribute was meaningful.

Heart

Good Luck with medical issues ladies.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member

Glad the memorial service was a beautiful tribute and your doctor thinks it's nothing to worry about. That must relieve some of the worry!

I'm feeling ok -have a lot to think about and decide and not sure what to so. I know I've got time but the more time it takes to make a decision the more I'm going to have to think about it - either way it's not a decision I want to make!

I will be more at ease when I have the ultasound and blood test just to confirm its nothing.

Do you mind me asking what decision you need to make?

I read that you are teaching- good for you- what grades do you teach- did you do a specific major in your teaching degree?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member Not sure how much disclosure is too much but it does relate to laying LOTS of charges.

This year, until I got sick at the beginning of September, I had a grade 4/5 for 4 days and taught Art for all grades Prep-Grade 6 on the other day.

Next year - if I can go back I'll have a 3/4 every day. We had to cut art to fit in Health - that really sucks. the kids really love Art but it isn't mandatory and Health is next year.

I actually majored in High School English and SOSE in my teaching degree but prior to that I did an Arts degree with a double major in Sociology then a Graduate Diploma of Social Research.

I didn't start teaching until I was 30 - did heaps of other things beforehand - then travelled, then came back and did teaching.

Sorry if you didn't want to talk about it- I thought it might help.

I studied education at uni but I dropped out in my last placement- I feel bad even now thinking about it but I did end up with my education studies degree. My major was human movement & health.

I am not very artistic- I wish I had your talent.

After my education degree, I completed public health degree(2012). After my public health degree is when I became unwell with severe depression and I am still not well- it has taken a while for me to get where I am now.

@Former-Member

I really would love to talk about it -especially with you - but I'm not sure what I can say here - may be inappropriate for the forum - and cause some issues/triggers for others. How far can I discuss - you've been here longer - what can I say?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Zoe7 Heart Smiley Happy

I've not read the community guidelines for a while- I think its okay for you to share stories and what you have experienced and things like that etc. I think if you write anything that is inappropriate- I know when I have used a phrase - it has came up has (Correct the highlighted errors and try again). It has prevented me from posting and I had to change the word that was prohibited.  I know they are pretty strict about personal information in terms of your own privacy- and you are not meant to discuss ie your location, share your personal name etc You can't talk about medication etc. In saying that I have mention I am from Queensland and from the Nth End of the Gold Coast- that is fine to do that but nothing specific.

When sharing on here just write what you are comfortable sharing.

What are you doing tomorrow?
