Re: Taking the plunge

Lol @CheerBear  just saw you first up this morning......without coffee. 😁😁😁

Re: Taking the plunge

Haha @Maggie! Worst start to open the fridge and see no milk! 🤯 I am holding strong iced coffee to make up for it. Probs not healthy but much needed.

I have another pic share for you. It's sunny here and this is what happens when I catch the sun

😁 I caught it walking past the laundry the other day too and the whole ceiling was twinkling! When I went for my new glasses a little while ago it was 2 for 1 and I chose prescription sunglasses for the first time. I must have known I'd need them for my feet 😉😎😝

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear  😎😎 I had to take my glasses off because of the twinkling from your feet. 🤩🤩🤩

I forgot to share some good news. I got a letter yesterday telling me I have a specialist app, for 18th of next mth. I just rang to find out what it’s for, as I’m waiting for a few things there. It’s for RA. Moral of the story......never trust a politician. Just sayin. 🥰🥰🥰

Re: Taking the plunge

😮 @Maggie that's such good news! Did the politician have anything to do with that?

Yay! Finally some good 🎉

Re: Taking the plunge

No @CheerBear  Politicians don’t speak English down this way. 👍👍👍

Have to move my avoidance butt, it’s really stuck today. 😩😩😩😩

Re: Taking the plunge

Oh so me too there with the avoidance butt @Maggie. I've done the shop thing but am avoiding everything to do with the house including organising it, hoping it just goes away. That doesn't seem to be working out for me though haha 😉

I hope you can find a way through or around your avoidance if you need to.

Self imposed forum ban for me until I get some stuff done I think 👋👋

Re: Taking the plunge

I have some good (ish/doubled sided) news now. My family support worker has been in contact with a tenancy organisation and apparently I have a really good case to take as far as I want. It's so good given the context and some real estate emails for evidence, that I'd have advocacy beyond me (I'm decent at advocating for myself I just get super scared) and my support worker, as a big organisation will help if we need. They even suggested an ivo against the owners (I'd never do that) as it's that not OK. It's a strange world when things are so not OK that it's good for you 😏😑 Scramble.

I then took a big breath and asked my support worker to start the process. It's a big risk, a huge risk really, but an important one for a few reasons - it will set a very clear message about what's and not OK to bully owners and agents, plus I wouldn't be able to sit comfortably with myself if I didn't take a stand against this. It's not right for people with power over others to use that power irresponsibly or to gain more power. I don't think so anyway.

So that's that. I really didn't need this on my plate but it feels good to be doing something about it at least.

@Maggie I was so fired up about it all I took it out on the house. It's very ready for people now, including having the yard mowed for sprinker and icy poles with a puppy after school. My avoidance left when volcano took over - plus side of having a volcano inside 😉 I've been thinking of you lots with this decision of whether to fight or not. Just wanted to say that ❤💪👮‍♀️🌳🐶🐱

Re: Taking the plunge

💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪 @CheerBear  so big Yes with this. It’s not ok to bully, never. You’ve got this, and a volcano behind you, unfortunately I need a bomb, but I have achieved a bit of painting, kind of. 🥰🥰

Yey to icy poles, puppy, lawn and ready for whatever comes. I hope you enjoy tonight, I really really do. Thanks for sharing that. I needed some good news

My counsellor is at Housing as we speak, rattling cages, to use her expression, being given the hands on hips and disapproving looks from the dragons den in reception.

Ive offered to bail her out if necessary. Looks like volcano headed this way. 👍👍😁😁😖

Re: Taking the plunge

Morning anyone who might be around and hi to anyone who might pass by later.

How did your counsellor get on at housing, do you know @Maggie? I love that she was rattling cages. She really sounds fab and a great support for you. I also loved the way you said the dragons den (cages of the dragons maybe). It's so, soooo much my experience of people behind desks of places like housing places.

Yay for a bit of painting. Stones?

Kettle is on, though verrrry quietly as there is a sleeping person and pup in the lounge room 👋
