Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay @BPDSurvivor @outlander @Maggie @eth @Former-Member @Appleblossom

@Molliex

We hit 40c just before the change that is blowing fiercely now - and the liquidamber over the road from  me is really bending in the gale - it's far enough away to not be a bother if it falls - a real best to everywhere it lands - and dangerous to walk near it right now -

A gum tree fell on my home a few years ago - it was okay - I had some broken tiles and the power was out for about 24 hours but the MESS - oh golly - a large tree is

tree-mendous when it falls

And after feeling pretty well today now that it's feeling cooler I feel really tired - it was a very hot night and I woke up to a powerful north-west gale blowing in really long gusts

And today the sky got really smoky - I can post the pic here - it's not completely cloudy - the sky itself looked white - and yes - I can post pics on this new phone it seems

I saw the psychologist again yesterday - really good session - 6 more sleeps until I see the pain specialist

Re: Life can be a Pain

Tree-mendous alright @Owlunar . Scary as I imagine. And messy.

Nice to hear you are feeling ok enough with a cool change. Our coming week is looking pleasant, I hope the cool change travels to NSW and Queensland, with rain. 🌧🌧🌧

6 more sleeps. 👍👍👍I do hope this is a really good outcome for you. Chronic pain is hard to push through, and messes with MI. Both feed off each other I think, mine seem to.

I’m heading for some cold water. I hope your evening is a good one. 💕💕💕

Re: Life can be a Pain

Glad you don't have long to go now for the pain doctor @Owlunar

very scary when a huge tree falls. I can imagine the mess it made.

we didn't reach 40 but it was hot enough

Re: Life can be a Pain

Glad you don't have long to go now for the pain doctor xoxo

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51 @BlueBay @Maggie

It's Friday morning again - and a busy Friday planned as usual

I went to sleep really early yesterday - watching TV as usual - I am a Star Trak fan - and dozed until midnight - I guess I can blame the hot day and the cool change for that - I watched recorded TV for a while and went to sleep and slept really well and I am up much earlier than usual - feeling fine today

Thanks everyone for the supportive posts I have had about the pain specialist - I have enough medication for now as my permit is valid until April - but seeing someone else about the pain that can only be managed and treated with medication is unnerving - I don't like talking about it - I feel I am justifying something people imagine I don't need but I do - I have been told by more medical people than not that it's necessary to take medication and that a huge operation on my spine which would need most like be counter-productive and who would want an operation that would be likely to make things? worse?

So it has to be medication - and maybe facet joint injections - not my idea of fun really

Yes - having that gum-tree fall on my house was an incredible experience - unreal actually - there was a gale blowing that Good Friday - it was evening and I was thinking about going to bed but that tree was groaning and creaking and this happened whenever the weather was so chaotic - I was watching TV and thinking I would sleep on the couch in the living room that night as I had often in such weather - and just as I thought that the tree came down - and not with a lot of noise either - it seemed to cascade gracefully and slither down my roof and the carport onto the ground - it was only went I went outside to see what had happened that I realised how much tree there was spread out horizontally. I couldn't get out of my front door but got outside the back gate and wriggled  around the fence and found someone's car under the tree. The power company turned the power off as the line was damaged and the Mininstry of Housing sent someone out in the morning to repair the damage - some of the people here were unaware that the tree had come down and that's why their power was out - amazing that!

Shaz - I think I read that you had an infected throat - and arthritis playing up at the same time - you work so hard and have so much to do I wonder how you manage all of this - I hope that pain eases up - does it have anything to do with your viral infection?

It's great I only have a few days to wait until I see the pain specialist - thanks everyone for your support - it ain't easy being green - or different in any way really

I hope your Friday is the best possible - I have been waiting for a man to come and look at my video-recorder that has been playing up - of course I got up early to be ready and I could have stayed in bed a bit longer but that's the odd way of things - had I not got up and showered I would still be in my PJs and he would have been here already

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Former-Member

How are you today? - how are the fires where you are? - there is so much happening in Victoria now it's hard to know how things are going in other states

I keep checking on the Sunshine Coast to see how things are for my grand-daughter - so far the fires have been away from her area since the fires up the coast from her last month I think - it's concerning for us all even though we don't actually know who or where our on-line friends are that we also know they are trouble by fires

The pic  I posted above - the sky behind those clouds should have been bright blue and I put a couple of filters out onto the photo I took and it was easy to see how much smoke and dust was blowing around up there and when the change came through there was a thunderstorm but not much rain if any. I had gone outside before the change and a few big splats of rain fell and they were really warm - it seemed strange - but that's what we have right now and all of Australia seems to be afflicted

So I am thinking of  you wherever you are Sherry - this is not an easy summer we are having and it hasn't started yet

Keep safe - we care about you here

yes thank you my second mum @Owlunar

it is soo painful and I think of you how much pain you have xx

yes with this kidney disease stage 4 and only one kidney the filters are damaged

and the urea acid goes around the body getting into the joints which causes the pain

wonder how you manage all of this -- sometimes I cant feel like i can take anymore my mum but i carry on xxx

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar  sorry I haven't replied personally to you - I've had a crazy busy week.  Heading to bro and sil's farm this morning and won't be back here until Monday but hopefully we can catch up soon.

Must be only 4 more sleeps now - I really hope the pain specialist listens to you and gives you a good management plan going forward.  I think by now you know what you need.

Take care my friend xx

Hi @eth @Shaz51 @BlueBay @Maggie @Gazza75

The appointment is on Wednesday  --i have to keep an activity diary for 2 days and I'm starting it well spending the morning in bed with major pain  - I'm so glad I have this new phone and can access the forum lying in bed  - it has stacks of emojis  - 😸😃:face_with_rolling_eyes:

I got plenty of chores done over the weekend  - even pulled some weeds and that's why my back hurts no doubt but yesterday was such a lovely day  - my daughter and her

husband are doing my garden on Thursday  - very necessary :face_with_rolling_eyes:

All the best today everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

All the best to you too @Owlunar  and hope you get some relief from your pain soon.  I spent saturday harvesting garlic up at the farm - digging it out with a large fork and have had back and feet pain since.  Hopefully easing today, having a day at home and not doing much physical stuff.   Wish you well,  take care xx
