I think sometimes how we choose to present ourselves actually can be hugely important in reducing stigma.
I think if you see no shame in declaring your illness then it helps reduce the negative stereotypes that are shown in the media or in the attitudes of the workforce or broader community.
There is so much prejudice still around mental health, it affects our chance of gaining and/ keeping paid employment and the way to change societal views of mental health is through discussions like this.

Given that this the Carers Forum, I'm interested to know if you label yourselves as 'carers'. Do you associate yourself with that label?
